This is a course of study covering Europe from approximately 1450 A.D. to the present. It introduces students to key people, events, concepts, and trends while focusing on the broad cultural, intellectual, economic, political, diplomatic, and social developments that played a fundamental role in shaping modern Europe. A major emphasis of this course is not only on the acquisition of knowledge about European History but also on the analysis of, interpretation of, and ability to write about historical documents and information.
