Sophomore students in World History study the development of Western governments and society from Ancient Greece and Rome to modern times. Major units include government and the revolutionary period, industrialization, imperialism, WWI and the rise of dictators, WWII, the Cold War, and post-Cold War world. It is hoped that students will gain a greater appreciation for the world around them and their role in it.
The curriculum for this course is based on the History-Social Science Content Standards for California Public Schools.
