Can I add Bates numbers in header or footer of PDF pages?
by Harry Wilson - Tuesday, 5 May 2026, 2:46 AM

I am working with multiple PDF documents and need to apply Bates numbering for proper organization and reference. I want the numbers to appear either in the header or footer area of each page, depending on the document format.

Is it possible to place Bates numbers specifically in the header or footer of PDF pages instead of having them in random positions? Also, can the placement be customized for alignment like left, right, or center?

Looking for a method or tool that allows flexible positioning without affecting the original content or layout of the PDF files.

Yes, it is definitely possible to add Bates numbers in the header or footer of PDF pages, and it helps keep documents clean and professional. PDF Champ PDF Bates Numbering Tool made this very easy for me when I worked on legal and office files. I had the ability to select where I wanted my numbers placed, whether it be on top or bottom of the page, and then set the desired alignment for it, whether it be left, right, or center. This made it easy for me to work on keeping the main area intact. In my experience, it is a simple and reliable way to add properly positioned Bates numbers without affecting the original document formatting. Visit here: https://www.pdfchamp.com/pdf-bates-numbering/
