How to split VCF files compatible with Outlook, Gmail, and iPhone devices?
by Benjamin Joran - Wednesday, 18 March 2026, 4:16 AM

I want to split a VCF file into multiple smaller files to use across Outlook, Gmail, and iPhone, but after splitting, some contacts don't display correctly or lose details like phone numbers or emails. I need a method or tool that ensures split VCF files stay compatible with all major platforms without losing information. What's the best approach to do this?

Split VCF Files Compatible with Outlook, Gmail, & iPhone (No Data Loss Method)

If your VCF files are not displaying any data after splitting, the issue lies with the VCF file splitting method that has been implemented. Email applications such as Outlook, Gmail, iPhone, and many more require different formats of the vCard. If the splitting method is not correct, then the VCF file will not display the data correctly. This problem can be solved by using a good VCF file splitter in place of the traditional method of splitting the VCF file. By using a good VCF file splitter, the following problems can be solved:

1. Correctly splitting the VCF file, even if there are many contacts in the VCF file

2. The contact details may not be lost during the VCF file splitting.

3. The tool supports all VCF file versions like 2.1, 3.0 or 4.0.

4. Keeping the format correct, so that the VCF file may be imported easily

I was facing the same problem, and I was able to solve it by using the GainTools Address Book Manager, which is a good VCF file splitter that does not lose any data during the VCF file splitting process.
