Forgot PST File Password Recovered from an Old Computer Backup
by Farancisvina8567 Farancisvina - Tuesday, 23 December 2025, 12:33 AM

I recently recovered an old Outlook PST file from a backup of my previous computer. The file seems to be intact, but unfortunately, I have forgotten the password that was used to protect it. Since this PST contains important emails, contacts, and attachments, I am unable to access the data through Outlook. I have already tried recalling possible passwords and checking if Outlook offers any way to remove or reset the PST password, but without success. Recreating the account is not an option because the data in this PST file is very important for me. Has anyone faced a similar situation after restoring a PST file from an old system backup? What is the safe and reliable solution to recover or remove the PST file password without data loss?

I want to share a real-life experience. A few days ago, I found an old Outlook PST file that was password-protected. Since I couldn't remember the password, I was unable to access the important emails and contacts. After trying several things, I came across the DataVare Outlook PST Password Recovery Expert Tool. This tool has a very simple interface & didn't require any technical knowledge to use. I simply selected the PST file, & in a short time, it recovered/removed the password. The best part was that all my data remained completely safe. If anyone is facing the problem of forgetting their Outlook PST file password, I think this tool is a good & reliable option. It proved especially helpful for PST files found in old backups or on old computers.

I hope this information will be useful to someone. Thank you.
