Why Is It Necessary to Combine vCard Files for Smooth Outlook Import?
by Ashley Hell - Sunday, 17 August 2025, 11:35 PM

I recently exported multiple contacts in vCard (vcf) format from different sources, like my phone and email accounts. Now, I want to import them into Microsoft Outlook, but Outlook only allows importing one vCard file at a time, which is very time-consuming. Can someone explain why it is necessary to combine all vCard files into a single VCF file for a smooth import process into Outlook? Also, what are the best methods or tools to merge multiple vCard files into one for hassle-free import?

Outlook does not support importing multiple vCard files at a time, which is why it is important to merge them into one file. GainTools Merge vCard Software allows you to merge a number of vCard files into one file in a quick manner. It works on all versions of Windows, it is a standalone software, and it does not require Outlook. All information is kept safe including phone, email, address and pictures. The tool is straightforward to use and offers a free demo so you can check it prior to purchasing it. This makes your Outlook contact import work smoothly and easily!
