How to Reduce PST File Size in Outlook Without Archiving?
by jose martin - Tuesday, 1 July 2025, 11:38 PM

I have been using Microsoft Outlook for a long time, and my PST file has become quite large, which is starting to affect performance. I want to reduce the size of the PST file but without using the archiving option, as I prefer to keep all my emails accessible in one place.

Is there a way to compress or reduce the PST file size without deleting emails or using the archive feature? I am looking for an effective method or tool that can help in this situation. Any reliable solution would be greatly appreciated.

If your Microsoft Outlook is running slow or is hanging frequently, then one of the main reasons for this can be a heavy PST file. Usually, people use Archive to reduce the size of the PST file, but if you want to reduce the size without archiving

Yes, I was facing this problem recently. Outlook's PST file had become very large, and Outlook started running slowly. Then I used the Softaken Compress PST Tool.

  • The special thing about this tool is that:
  • It compresses the PST file without data loss.
  • It reduces the PST size by saving attachments in a separate folder.
  • It is very easy to use, even without technical knowledge.

I got a lot of relief from it. If your PST file has also become very large, then definitely try it once.
