Advanced Band is a performance based class for the student who has demonstrated the ability to play grade level music 3 - 5.  Intermediate Band is a performance based class for the student who has demonstrated the ability to play grade level music 2 - 3.5.

Instruction includes: rhythm pattern exercises, major/minor/chromatic scales, teacher selected music, basic harmony, theory, ear-training, note/rest value and identification, time and key signature identifications, instrument history, transposition and sight-reading of rhythm patterns.

The course is divided into two semester parts: Marching Band and Concert Band. 

Marching Band season involves learning music for parades, halftime shows, pep rallies and band reviews/competitions. 

Concert Band season involves learning music for Winter Concert, Music Festivals and Spring Concert.
