Ninth grade honors is a class designed to challenge students who have exhibited outstanding abilities and achievement in language arts. As in all English classes, the English-Language Arts Content Standards are the foundation for determining curriculum. In addition to completing the core curriculum for the 9^th grade, students will be expected to complete supplemental, in-depth reading and composition assignments.  The class will integrate literature, language, and composition. Students will need to be motivated, responsible, and committed to undertake challenging assignments.  Students will be required to use and further develop critical thinking skills. One important goal of the class is to prepare students for additional honors and advanced placement classes, and ultimately, admission to a university.
