Re: My VCF file is too big and not opening properly — what can I do?

This issue typically occurs due to large files containing several thousand contacts in a single VCF file format. Most apps and devices will have difficulty loading that much information from one file, resulting in slow operation. The solution would be to split the VCF file into smaller parts. Smaller VCF files will perform better than larger ones and will be easier to open on different platforms. A split vCard tool like the SameTools Address Book Manager can be used to split large VCF files into several smaller files with just a few simple clicks. The process is completely automated and does not require any manual edits to contacts. All of the contact information contained in the original file (i.e., name, phone number, and email) will also remain intact and unchanged after the VCF files are split. The tool has the capability of supporting all of the various versions of vCards and therefore there are no issues with compatibility either. Once the VCF files are split into several smaller files, they become lightweight and much easier to open, share, or import without issues.
